Moved out of the workshop and stayed overnight for the first time
We are Daniëlle and Albert, and in 2022 we started building our Tiny House. The cottage is located in beautiful Egmond, on the edge of the North Holland Dune Reserve – a place where the peace of nature and the view of Scottish Highland cattle and grazing horses immediately help you escape the hustle and bustle of city life. We ourselves live in Amsterdam, and now that the cottage is finished we love coming here to alternate busy city life with nature.
We started building on a real tiny house trailer. From 3D drawings to the timber frame and finishing, every step was a valuable learning process. We sourced as many materials as possible second-hand via Marktplaats or even found them as discarded materials – and you will see: you would never guess that from the final result! Since summer 2024 the house has been in its place and we stayed in it for the first time.
The small house is fully equipped because we use it ourselves regularly and know what is needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Whenever we are not staying there ourselves, we are happy to share it with you. We hope it will be a lovely place for you as well to relax and unwind.
